Lead Paint Remediation/Abatement
and Historical Restoration

Leave lead paint removal to the professionals.

The Environmental Protection Agency banned lead paint in the United States in 1978. Lead paint was produced as early as the 4th Century and is estimated that 37 million contain lead paint. Even a small amount of lead paint can cause illness and high amounts of lead paint can cause permanent damage to the brain, nervous system, kidneys or can even cause death. The highly toxic lead metal is especially dangerous for young children and pregnant women.

Here at RFS we have certified lead paint removal supervisors and workers trained to safely remove lead paint from wood flooring. We specialize in historical, commercial and residential lead paint remediation/abatement and adhere to all EPA’s safety guidelines.

One of our most recent projects includes the Historic, Olbiston Flats apartment buildings, built in the 1800’s in Utica NY. The painted floors consisted of high levels of lead which we safely remediated to provide a safe living environment. This project was 7,500 square feet of flooring including installation of new sub flooring, new wood flooring plus sanding and finishing in restoration of the almost 150 individual apartments.
